Chris Pillo's OPML icon proposal, there should be more coming: “We will be posting alternate designs that have been proposed shortly...”
I knew Dave Winer at OPML.org have been searching for a: “beautiful icon that people will display with pride...” since over a year.
I had though about it then (only thought about it): An OPML icon requires to fit with the RSS icon and to be clearly visible in small.
Which, in this case, fits:
What do you think?
Personally I think this blue must be a bit difficult to display nicely on any monitor but like the feed icons I don't think there's a need to stick to one color. The shape sure has impact, it's an ancient symbol meaning a lot of things: sun, eye, pregnant, atom... which makes me think: Atom, RSS, XML... OPML. :)
The simple shapes are allways the strongest.
Plus, you stick 4 RSS icons together and you'll get a circle like the OPML icon, which is exaclty what OPML feed lists do.
